A fine nose job requires full analysis of facial aesthetics and meticulous execution. It can be performed through a small cut on the base of the nose, medically termed the columella, or with no external cut at all. It depends on the surgeons’ experience and patients’ objectives.
I tend to do an open approach when the tip of the nose requires reshaping, otherwise a closed technique is ideal to address the dorsum and root of the nose. Mastering a natural looking nose is a very challenging procedure. Careful planning and delicate execution ensure a fine and natural looking nose job.
Aesthetic Rhinoplasty considered a difficult plastic surgery procedure. One of the reasons is due to the complex anatomical nature of the nose. It is formed of external and internal structures. On the outside there is skin envelope. On the inside there is mucosa. Sandwiched between them is the bone and cartilage structures. Each segment has to be addressed carefully to produce a good outcome.

Objectives of the procedure

  • Alter the shape and size of the nose. Including the root, the dorsal and hump, tip and septum if required
  • Producing a balanced and harmonised nose that suits the features of the face.
  • Improve breathing
  • Improve self-esteem

In response to requests from patients I have published this blog to educate patients and publics about the surgery. If you are considering having a Nose job then I encourage you to read more about the knowledge in the subtle and challenging art of rhinoplasty
