Brow Lift

The brow is an essential part of a beautiful, well structured face.

But did you know that the upper half of your face ages approximately a decade before the lower half?

That’s why your brow is often an area you should pay particular attention to.

Simply raising your eyebrows can eliminate angry, sad or tired expressions that we naturally
develop over time.

This straight-forward procedure is not very invasive at all. And it improves lateral upper eyelid hoods, that hang over the outside corner of your eyes.

Better still it also softens your horizontal forehead wrinkles and the scowl lines between your eyebrows to give you a natural, youthful appearance.

A Forehead Lift is performed in a minimally invasive manner at Australia Plastic Surgery.
Think of it as a permanent form of anti-wrinkle.

Planning your surgery

Your Consultation
During your consultation, your surgeon will carefully analyse your eyebrow and forehead to
uncover ways to address sagginess, asymmetry, skin quality and wrinkles.

Your surgeon will also examine the position of your hairline, eyebrow, and upper eyelids, and will explain what he finds.

Once he has completed his examination he will then discuss your general health to ensure there are no complications. Many people find this diligent approach unnecessary. However it is part of Australia Plastic Surgery’s careful approach to any procedure.

Finally, your surgeon will give you his recommendation of procedure and explain it thoroughly. He will also talk you through how to prepare for the operation and how to ease the healing process after surgery.

And naturally, he will take the time to answer any questions and discuss your expectations.

Your Surgery
The procedure is quite straight forward and can be done under a local or general anaesthetic. The choice is yours.

A small 5cm incision is made at the top of your head behind the hair line. This leaves only a minor scar which is hidden within your hair. The skin and fascia on the head, brow and around the eyes are then raised the appropriate amount and fixed in their new position.

The procedure will take about 60 minute and you will be able to go home after the procedure.

After Your Surgery
The incision within the hairline is dressed with application of an antibiotic cream. There may be some mild pain, swelling and bruising that will improve with ordinary pain-killers and by elevating your head. And you may develop black eyes, but these will also clear up in a few days.

You will need rest for 1-2 days followed by light duties, and you can resume full, normal activities within 10-14 days. The stitches may need to be removed after around 5-7 days.

When you return home you will be given a card with the details of your follow up visit, the phone number of our clinic and the personal number of your surgeon. And you can contact us day or night if you have any concerns or questions.
