Dr Andre Safvat is a Sydney-based Australian-trained Specialist Plastic, Reconstructive and Hand Surgeon with an established practice in the Inner West and South Sydney, who has recently joined the team of specialists at Australia Plastic Surgery, Broadway.
After completing his medical degree at the University of New South Wales, Dr Safvat started general surgical training and full-time research at Royal North Shore hospital and the University of Sydney. He was then selected to Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Training and obtained his fellowship in FRACS (Plas).
During his training, Dr Safvat worked in some of the busiest and Plastic Surgery centres in Sydney including RPA Hospital, St Vincent’s Hospital, Royal North Shore Hospital, Concord Hospital, Liverpool Hospital, Sydney Hand Hospital, Westmead Hospital and Sydney Children’s Hospital.
He then undertook a post-fellowship training at St Vincent’s Hospital in Plastic and Reconstructive Microsurgery. Dr Safvat’s special interests include:
- The treatment of acute injuries and fractures of the hand, Carpal Tunnel, Dupuytren’s, Trigger Fingers, DeQuervain’s and Ganglion cysts
- The treatment of skin lesions, skin cancers and associated complex reconstruction and scar revision
- Reconstructive breast surgery
