Pre‑Surgery
Once you decide to proceed with a procedure at Australia Plastic Surgery, you’ll receive a comprehensive Cost & Payment Schedule detailing:
- Surgeon’s fee (from one of our Fellowship‑trained FRACS plastic surgeons)
- Specialist anaesthetist fee
- Hospital or day‑surgery facility costs (if applicable)
To secure your surgery slot, a deposit and signed Terms & Conditions are required. For procedures booked more than a month out, an instalment plan will be offered, your first payment is typically due within 7–10 days of confirming your date, unless otherwise agreed in writing with the surgeon and Practice Director.
If extra preparation is needed, a Pre‑Operative Planning Appointment may be scheduled. This gives you a chance to complete hospital documentation and clarify any remaining questions in person.
On the day of surgery, please wear loose, comfortable clothing that opens at the front—like a button-down shirt or nightwear, for ease during recovery. We also advise removing nail polish so the anaesthetist can effectively monitor your oxygen levels.
A medical-grade compression garment is included in your surgical package. You’ll need to wear it continuously (day and night) for 6–8 weeks post-op. If desired, you can purchase an extra garment for convenience, just contact our rooms before surgery.
Post‑Surgery
To support a smoother recovery at home:
- Complete any heavy chores like changing bed linens, deep cleaning, etc, before surgery day.
- Arrange to have a family member or friend drive you to and from the clinic, and stay with you at least for the first 24 hours post-surgery.
- Resist the urge to overexert yourself during the first 1–2 weeks, this is vital to preserve the surgical results.
Some discomfort and fluctuation in how you feel is normal. You’ll be prescribed pain management medication to ensure you remain comfortable. On some days you may feel great; on others, more fatigued or sore, that’s all part of normal healing.
Follow‑Up Care
Our standard post-op schedule includes:
- First review: 7–10 days after surgery
- Second review: Approximately 4 weeks post-op
- Final assessment: Around 3 months, assuming recovery has progressed well
These appointments allow us to monitor your healing, address concerns, and confirm that your results are on track.
