The sun, genetics, and natural ageing cause our skin to lose its elasticity and plumpness which in turn causes wrinkles and lines in our faces and necks.

Soluble gel volumisers injected into areas of concern will help smooth out those fine lines and restore fullness and volume. The Hyaluronic Acid (HA) filler treatments that we use at the Glebe Cosmetic Clinic are non-invasive and suitable for both men and women.

Facial areas which benefit from fillers:

  • Marionette lines around the mouth
  • Smoker’s lines above and below the lips
  • Plumping and defining the lips
  • Smile lines from the nose to the mouth (the nasolabial fold)
  • Acne scars
  • Temple
  • Tear trough (under eye hollowness/dark circles)
  • Midface/cheeks
  • Preauricular
  • jawline
  • Chin
  • Neck lines

Prices for fillers vary based on the product, the area which needs treating, and the number of syringes needed to achieve the desired result.

The (HA) filler is injected into the fat pads of the face and the effects can be immediate, but they also improve over time. Some areas can take up to 2-4 weeks for the filler to be fully effective.

Fillers can last up to 2 years depending on the area of the treatment and can be used in combination with other treatments such as anti-wrinkle or skin booster injections to achieve optimum results.

Aftercare:

To reduce any potential side effects such as swelling, bruising, redness and tenderness we recommend that you avoid activities that include heat such as hot showers, saunas, and spas. We also recommend you stay out of the sun and avoid alcohol for the first 24 hours.

You may ice the area for short intervals to reduce any swelling that may appear and should bruising occur, we recommend applying Arnica or Hirudoid twice a day for the next 7 days.

We suggest sleeping on your back for at least the first 2 days and avoiding pressure to the treated area. Active products such as retinols, vitamin C and AHA’s should also be avoided.

For the following two weeks after treatment please avoid activities that require you to be face down such as yoga or massages, facials, chemical peels, skin needling, microdermabrasion, IPL, laser treatment, or waxing and avoid massaging the treated area.

Soluble gel volumisers are injectable substances, typically composed of Hyaluronic Acid (a sugar molecule found naturally in the skin). When injected into specific fat pads or beneath the skin, they restore lost volume, smooth out deep lines, and help sculpt facial contours like the jawline and cheeks.

These treatments are versatile and can be used to address “marionette lines” around the mouth, nasolabial folds (nose to mouth), hollow temples, and tear troughs. They are also effective for adding definition to the chin, jawline, and mid-face (cheeks), as well as softening the appearance of acne scars and neck lines.

The longevity of results varies depending on the specific area treated and your individual metabolism. Most soluble gel treatments last between 6 to 18 months. Because the gel is naturally and gradually absorbed by the body, periodic maintenance treatments are required to sustain the aesthetic outcome.

Most patients can return to work immediately, though minor swelling, redness, and bruising are common for 24–48 hours. To ensure optimal healing, we recommend avoiding strenuous exercise, alcohol, and excessive heat (saunas/spas) for the first 24 hours. We also suggest sleeping on your back for two days to avoid applying pressure to the treated areas.

While generally well-tolerated, potential side effects include temporary lumps, asymmetry, or infection. Rare but serious risks include vascular occlusion (blockage of a blood vessel). It is essential to have these procedures performed by an experienced medical practitioner who can identify and manage these risks effectively.
